PaceMyPlate

Privacy Policy

Effective 27 June 2026

PaceMyPlate is an independently operated nutrition planning application based in Australia, operated by Stelios Andreou trading as Pace My Plate, ABN 50 417 208 715. This Privacy Policy explains how PaceMyPlate collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information when you use the app and related services.

PaceMyPlate handles personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy law. Because physical profile, activity, dietary, and nutrition information can reveal information about your health, we treat it with additional care.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use PaceMyPlate, we may collect:

  • Account information: your email address, account identifier, authentication provider, and basic sign-in information supplied by Google or Apple.
  • Physical profile information: age, height, weight, sex or gender selection, preferred measurement units, and nutrition goals.
  • Planning and nutrition information: meal schedules, calorie and macronutrient targets, logged or locked meals, saved meals, dietary preferences, food exclusions, grocery-list state, and meal feedback.
  • Activity information: planned activities, training times, work or activity profiles, effort levels, calendar entries, and related notes you choose to enter.
  • Subscription information: product, entitlement, purchase, renewal, and subscription-status information. Apple processes your payment details; PaceMyPlate does not receive your full card or bank details.
  • Technical and analytics information: device and browser information, app interactions, feature usage, approximate network information, diagnostic events, and error information.
  • Support communications: information you send when requesting help or reporting a problem.

2. How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you create an account, configure your profile, plan meals or activities, use app features, make a subscription purchase, or contact support. We also collect limited technical and usage information automatically through the app and our service providers.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • operate, personalise, and secure PaceMyPlate;
  • calculate estimated energy, meal, and macronutrient plans;
  • sync your selected information across devices;
  • authenticate accounts and prevent misuse;
  • provide and manage paid features;
  • understand feature performance and improve the product;
  • diagnose errors and respond to support requests;
  • comply with legal obligations; and
  • protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, PaceMyPlate, and our service providers.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your health-related information for third-party advertising.

4. Local storage and account sync

Some settings, saved meals, planning information, and interface state may be stored locally on your device or in your browser. Local information may remain until you clear the app or browser data, reset the relevant feature, or remove the app.

If you sign in, selected profile, settings, calendar, meal, preference, feedback, and grocery information is synced using Supabase so it can be available across devices. Database access is restricted using account-based row-level security.

5. Analytics and diagnostics

PaceMyPlate uses PostHog to understand how features are used, measure product performance, and diagnose errors. Analytics may include an account identifier, app events, subscription events, device or browser attributes, and diagnostic information.

We aim to avoid sending detailed meal content, body measurements, free-text notes, or other unnecessary sensitive information to analytics services. Analytics should not be treated as a substitute for your account records.

6. Service providers and overseas processing

We use trusted providers to operate the app. These currently include:

  • Supabase for authentication, database, and account sync services;
  • PostHog for product analytics and diagnostics, using its United States data region;
  • RevenueCat for subscription entitlement and purchase-status management;
  • Apple for App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit purchases, and subscription billing; and
  • Google when you choose Google sign-in.

These providers may process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Privacy protections in those countries may differ from Australian law. We take reasonable steps to select reputable providers, limit the information shared, and use contractual and technical safeguards appropriate to the service.

7. When we disclose information

We disclose information to the service providers described above where reasonably necessary to operate PaceMyPlate. We may also disclose information where required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to investigate fraud or security incidents, or to protect legal rights and safety. If the app or its assets are transferred to another operator, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

8. Data retention

Account information is generally retained while your account is active. When an account is deleted, account-linked records are scheduled for deletion or de-identification, except where retention is reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, financial records, backups, or legal compliance.

Analytics and diagnostic records are retained according to our configured retention periods and provider settings. Local device data is controlled separately and may need to be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted network connections, managed authentication, access controls, and database row-level security. No online service can guarantee absolute security. You should protect access to your device, email account, Apple or Google account, and PaceMyPlate session.

10. Access, correction, deletion, and choices

You may update much of your information within the app. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account by contacting pacemyplate@gmail.com.

Account deletion is being implemented as a secure in-app action. Until that action is available, contact support to request deletion. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription; subscriptions must be managed through your Apple account.

Where analytics controls are made available in the app, you may use them to limit optional analytics. Essential security, authentication, and subscription records may still be processed as necessary to provide the service.

11. Children and young people

PaceMyPlate is not directed to children under 13. If you are under 18, you should use the app with the involvement of a parent or guardian, particularly before acting on nutrition or weight management information. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child contrary to applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

12. Privacy complaints

Contact us at pacemyplate@gmail.com if you have a privacy question or complaint. Please include enough information for us to investigate. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as PaceMyPlate changes. The current version will be published at this location with a revised effective date. We will provide additional notice where a change is material or where required by law.
